The British monarch, King Charles III, will resume public responsibilities next week after a three-month hiatus to focus on his treatment and recovery.
The British monarch was diagnosed with an unidentified kind of cancer a few months ago and is currently being treated.
However, Buckingham Palace said on Friday that the monarch will visit a cancer treatment clinic on Tuesday, the first of numerous public appearances he will make in the following weeks.
According to the palace, one of his first big responsibilities would be to welcome a state visit by Japan’s emperor and empress in June.
Although the king’s medical staff is “very encouraged by the progress made so far and remains positive about the king’s continued recovery,” the palace did not offer an update on the king’s treatment.
On February 5, Charles revealed his diagnosis and went on with his official duties, which included meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and going over government paperwork.
The palace released a statement saying:
“As the first anniversary of the coronation approaches, their majesties remain deeply grateful for the many kindnesses and good wishes they have received from around the world throughout the joys and challenges of the past year.”
