Liverpool supporters are taking a stand against the club’s decision to increase season ticket prices by two percent. In protest, fans will refuse to display flags on the Kop during Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first leg against Atalanta.

Manager Jurgen Klopp remains confident that the absence of flags won’t affect the team’s performance. However, he acknowledges supporters’ concerns and believes a resolution will be reached.

“This, of course, is what we are in it for. The whole idea is that it should be a test and our own idea is that we should relish these tests. We know that Anfield is made for nights like this, and we will need the stadium to be on its toes in the way it gets behind the team and senses the moments when a little bit extra is needed. I have no doubt that this will be the case tonight.”

The protest comes after Spion Kop 1906, a Liverpool supporters’ group, expressed disappointment with the club’s pricing decision. They emphasized the importance of positive dialogue between the club and supporters, urging against ticket price increases.

While the situation remains tense, both the club and fans are hopeful for a constructive outcome. Klopp emphasizes the unity between the team and supporters, emphasizing their shared identity as Liverpool
