Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan is beaming with pride as his first child, Eyiyemi, marks a new milestone today, September 11. The award-winning director took to Instagram to share heartwarming photos of himself and the celebrant, calling her “Omo mi” and blessing her with heartfelt prayers.
Kunle prayed that he would never weep over her, that she would grow in wisdom and understanding, and continue to prosper.

Eyiyemi has been a source of pride for Kunle, who cast her as Princess Omowunmi in Anikulapo. He once revealed that she was chosen not only for her beauty but also for her talent as a natural performer and singer.
Despite occasional social media drama — including criticism over their playful dance at the Anikulapo: The Rise of the Spectre premiere, father and daughter maintain a close bond. Eyiyemi often expresses gratitude for her upbringing and remains focused on building her acting career.
