23 stores were saved from a major fire incident in Ilorin, the state capital, according to the Kwara State Fire Service on Monday.
The fire broke out at about 03:48 a.m. (03:48 a.m.) at Emir’s stores, adjacent to Olusola Saraki Market, Ita-Amon Ilorin, Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state.
“The fire brigade got to know of the fire incident through the running call done by one anonymous person living very close to the scene of occurrence.
“Firemen were able to eliminate the ravaging fire on time, and out of the 23 shops in the building only three shops were affected by the burning fire,” the fire department’s spokesperson, Hassan Adekunle said.
According to him, the fire was triggered by a power surge.
