Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has dismissed claims that her recent social media post was directed at her colleague, Biola Bayo, amid the latter’s separation announcement.
In a heartfelt clarification, Laide affirmed her support for Biola, describing her as a sister and sending prayers her way.
Biola Bayo had earlier announced her separation, sharing her emotional journey of co-parenting her son while enduring personal struggles. In her announcement, Biola candidly apologized to fans who might feel disappointed, noting her sincere wish for her marriage to have worked out but emphasizing the importance of preserving her well-being.
Amid this, Laide Bakare shared a playful video of herself dancing, accompanied by a caption that many interpreted as a dig at Biola’s situation: “All of us will eat breakfast. Asiko lo ma ya to. Good morning, people.” The timing of her post sparked backlash, with critics accusing her of insensitivity.
Responding to the accusations, Laide firmly denied any intention to shade Biola. She clarified that she had no knowledge of Biola’s announcement, as she was celebrating her daughter’s graduation in California. “I can never shade my own sister @biolabayo. My prayers are with you. Trolls are evil,” she wrote, urging people to avoid jumping to conclusions.
Laide’s public support reflects the strong bond between the two actresses, dismissing any notion of rivalry. Her post comes at a time when Biola is navigating a challenging chapter of her life, following her separation after less than two years of marriage.
Interestingly, Laide is not the only public figure whose comments have been linked to Biola’s situation. Controversial singer Portable also made remarks that appeared to mock Biola, pointing out the irony of her advising others while facing her own marital struggles.
Despite the noise, Biola remains focused on co-parenting and rebuilding her life, earning respect from fans for her courage and transparency.
