Nigerian influencer and reality star Laura Ikeji recently shared the deep meaning behind her elegant outfit at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). Taking to Instagram, the mother of three explained her decision to go for a minimalist look, emphasizing that less can often be more.

In her post, Laura shared how her team and she aimed to achieve a clean, classy, and realistic look. She expressed how she wanted an outfit that would allow her to walk the red carpet without looking drastically different from her pictures. The influencer captioned her photos with a quote that read, “A moment in fashion, a lifetime of style. Red carpet ready. Sometimes less is really more. This year, my team and I wanted minimal drama, clean classy, and realistic. Something I could walk the red carpet with and not look different from my pictures, and this was it. How did we do, my lovelies? #AMVCA25 #AMVCA2025.”

The RHOL (Real Housewives of Lagos) star has often been the subject of online criticism, including a video she shared of herself wearing a crop top and baggy jeans. Laura responded to these critics by noting that while she would love to hear more from them, she had not received any further feedback.

Earlier this year, Laura reflected on the idea of undergoing plastic surgery. Despite receiving comments about her body, including from Iyabo Ojo, who had criticized her for exposing her body, Laura defended her figure. She proudly shared a video showcasing her body, emphasizing that she still looked fabulous after having three children and without any surgical enhancements.

On a more personal note, Laura also opened up about the realities of being a parent, especially with a newborn. She revealed that she and her husband often stay awake until 3-4 a.m. every day, taking turns to care for their baby.

In another instance, Laura seemed to throw shade at an unnamed person, believed by many to be Iyabo Ojo, who had recently been fighting for justice for the late Mohbad. Laura called out the hypocrisy of bullies fighting for the bullied, sparking speculation and further fueling online drama.
