Job Description
To provide support to the Legal Counsel by performing a variety of tasks, including conducting research, drafting documents, and managing schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manage all administrative responsibilities in the legal office and enhance office effectiveness
- Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards. Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain contact lists
- Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars.
- Draft memos
- Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and agreements
- Conduct legal research and compile data for Legal counsel review and use
- Maintain files of corporate legal documents
- Schedule appointments and meetings with clients, experts etc
- Prepare expense reports and process invoices for payment
- Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate party
- Perform general office duties such as copying, scanning, and faxing.
- Carrying out all assigned tasks as instructed by Line manager.
- Conduct all initial research and provide information to the Legal Counsel.
- Organize all legal documents in a confidential way.
Qualification
- Minimum of a B.Sc Degree in Law
- Work Experience: 1 – 2 years
- Excellent Research skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Efficient Organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Teamwork skills.
