Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Legal Associate located in Lagos, with flexibility for some remote work. The Legal Associate will be responsible for legal document preparation, analyzing legal issues, and communicating with clients. The Legal Associate will also be responsible for assisting with other legal tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Draft and advise on complex agreements for clients in a broad range of industries.
- Oversee legal research and provide advice and legal support to clients in multiple industries including Banking & finance, capital markets, intellectual property & entertainment, technology & startups, real estate, logistics and FMCG; Dispute resolution, Debt recovery, data privacy etc.
- Support clients with transaction negotiation, attend meetings and other clients’ engagements.
- Oversee the conduct of data privacy audits and handle other regulatory preparation and submission of license applications and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance and corporate law with practical experience
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail
- *Proactive and organized approach to serving handling multiple tasks and clients
Qualifications
- Law expertise and knowledge of legal procedures
- Knowledge of legal document preparation
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to research and understand complex legal issues
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in a law firm or legal department is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Law
Requirements
- Bachelors of Law (LL.B)
- Nigerian Law School
- Between 5-6 years post call experience
