Nollywood actor Adams Kehinde, popularly known as Lege Miami, has spoken out against the upcoming protests in Nigeria, urging the youth to reconsider their participation.

As Nigerians plan to protest on August 1st against the government and the rising cost of food, Lege Miami shared a video on Instagram advising Lagos youth to step back and give President Tinubu more time to address the nation’s economic challenges.

Lege Miami acknowledged the high cost of living but expressed his belief that the President can rectify the situation if given more time. He also raised concerns about potential chaos from the protests, stating that some might use the opportunity to incite violence.

We aren’t protesting in Lagos. Please let’s give Mr. President more chance to fix the country. Please, don’t be choked. I know that it isn’t easy and things are getting more expensive than when we left.

Mr. President, please look out for the food. Foodstuff is very expensive for the poor people. His team should work on that. But we aren’t protesting in Lagos because other people want to use it against this government.

All youths, wise up; let’s pray for a better Nigeria. Let’s support Mr. President, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We aren’t protesting in Lagos, and let’s not forget the Governor of Lagos is trying as well. Please, thank you, everyone, and God bless you.”

Similarly, actress Tonto Dikeh advised against nationwide protests. She empathized with the public’s frustrations but suggested forming a representative group to meet with the President and advocate for their concerns through peaceful and diplomatic channels.

Earlier this year, Lege Miami made headlines with a video plea asking the public to stop soliciting money from him. He clarified that he has no political connections and is not wealthy, urging people to understand his financial constraints.
