Nigerian singer Lil Kesh has stirred online controversy with his reaction to the recent wedding of Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.
The wedding, which included both traditional and white ceremonies, had already captured significant attention on the internet. Lil Kesh’s public congratulatory message to Priscilla has now added fuel to the fire, with some online users criticizing his use of a pet name for the newlywed.
Taking to Twitter (now X), Lil Kesh congratulated Priscilla on her wedding day, using the pet name “P Coco” to address her. He prayed for God’s blessings on her union, writing:
Congratulations, P Coco, God bless your union.”
However, the message was not well received by some of Priscilla’s followers. Many online in-laws expressed their displeasure at Lil Kesh’s use of the nickname, which they felt was inappropriate given her newlywed status. Some even questioned why he would use a pet name that he had likely used during their rumored past relationship.
One user, I_am_the_mot, commented:
We don’t care. She’s married. Move on geez.”
Other users echoed similar sentiments, with The_hair_pol!ce writing:
“You no know her name? Which one is the pet name? It’s not needed.”
The controversy stems from the fact that, in 2019, Priscilla and Lil Kesh were the subject of romance rumors. They were frequently seen together at events, shared birthday messages, and even appeared together in Lil Kesh’s music video. Despite these interactions, Priscilla denied any romantic involvement with the singer during an interview with BBC News Pidgin.
Since the rumours of a relationship with Lil Kesh, Priscilla has been linked to other celebrities. In 2022, she was romantically associated with Nigerian artist Kizz Daniel after the two spent a week together in a London hotel. However, the relationship was never publicly confirmed. Priscilla has also faced speculation regarding her friendship with influencer Enioluwa, with many assuming they were dating. Both Priscilla and Enioluwa have since clarified that they are simply close friends.
