Liverpool is reportedly set to complete the signing of Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton in the next few days.
The Premier League transfer window isn’t due to officially open until June 14, but clubs can still finalize deals beforehand, and then rubberstamp them when they get the green light.
With Liverpool’s below-par season which saw the Reds finish 5th outside the champions league places, Jurgen Klopp will like to do business early and get his squad ready for next season.
More so, the team has seen the exodus of midfielders in Naby Keita, Chamberlain, and Milner, and will have to reinforce the midfield and hit the ground running so that new players are attuned to the style of play of get used to their new teammates.
Mac Allister has been included in the Argentina squad for this month’s international action.
The Argentine has been capped 16 times for his country to date and started all but one game on his side’s run to winning the world cup.
