Liverpool’s Double Blow: Klopp Reveals Two Key Players Sidelined for Weeks

Liverpool faces a significant setback as manager Jurgen Klopp delivered concerning news about key players ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash with LASK. Star goalkeeper Alisson, injured during the recent 1-1 draw with Manchester City, is ruled out for an estimated two weeks, impacting Liverpool’s defensive stability. Klopp, while relieved the injury wasn’t as severe as initially feared, expressed uncertainty about Alisson’s return date.

Adding to the woes, Portuguese forward Diogo Jota, who also picked up a knock against City, faces a more extended absence. Klopp stated, “Both [Alisson and Jota] are out. Ali is a bit less [worrying]. It is day by day. He cannot play tomorrow, not on Sunday, probably not the week after. Not as bad, but bad enough. Diogo should take a little bit longer. We don’t know exactly how long, but it is more severe. We have to see.”

The absence of Alisson, considered one of the world’s best goalkeepers, raises concerns for Liverpool’s title aspirations. With Caoimhin Kelleher set to fill the void, Liverpool hopes for a swift recovery before the crucial clash against Manchester United on December 17. The injury list, including Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, and Andy Robertson, continues to grow, challenging Liverpool’s depth as they navigate upcoming fixtures in both the Premier League and Europa League.
