Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Logistics function. Your responsibilities will span across our First Mile (Inbound Logistics), Middle Mile (Inter-site transport), and Final Mile (Outbound customer deliveries) operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor all inbound, inter-site and outbound transport movements, ensuring timely deliveries and collections at all times.
- Adjust inter-site and outbound schedules as required on a daily basis.
- Daily communication with external suppliers to ensure on time delivery to our sites.
- Proactively communicate potential issues to relevant stakeholders, ensuring an excellent experience for our customers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, escalating to the Logistics Lead when necessary.
- Ensure our transport management system is always accurate and up to date.
- Work with our courier partners to ensure that our customer deliveries arrive on time, in full with no issues.
- Proactively challenge orders that are at risk of failing and coordinate potential recoveries.
- Work closely with the customer care department to resolve courier related issues that have been escalated to the Logistics team.
- Ensure the accuracy of complaints data.
- Provide support on any Logistics related projects or tasks as necessary.
- Provide daily updates/reports to your manager.
- Identify improvement opportunities that could reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.
Qualification
- Experience working in a food supply chain environment.
- Ambitious and looking to progress in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of decision making with no supervisory intervention.
- Experience of working with 3PL companies (transportation or delivery couriers).
- Previous experience of working with external suppliers.
- Proven ability to work with Excel/ Google sheets and an ability to learn how to use new systems/ technology quickly.
- Confident with the ability to accept responsibility and own the solution.
- Good accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Be flexible so as to develop the role to best meet the changing needs of a growing company.
- Confident written and verbal communicator.
