Liverpool has been handed a major boost ahead of their weekend clash with Manchester City this weekend. It’s been nearly six months since Luis Diaz played for Liverpool, after getting injured playing against Arsenal in October.
Diaz, 26, has been doing his rehabilitation away from the rest of the squad in what can often be a lonely and challenging pursuit. However, he has done everything in his power to return as quickly as possible. This is as evidenced by his conduct around the club’s Kirkby HQ.
His six-month absence however has been severely felt by Liverpool. Diaz could now be involved in the match-day squad this weekend. Especially as the Reds head to the Etihad Stadium to take on Man City.
The club posted a video on Twitter of Diaz walking out with his teammates at the AXA Training Centre on Thursday. Reports this week suggest that he has already returned to full training.

Darwin Nunez was also part of the squad in training, recovering from a cut ankle that ruled him out of Uruguay duty.
The winger was originally due to return from a knee injury after the World Cup. However, a setback at the Reds’ Dubai training camp meant he needed surgery. He has therefore not played since the 3-2 defeat at Arsenal on October 10.
