Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has taken to her Instagram story to expose the underbelly of the music industry, shedding light on what she perceives as fake love and friendship within its ranks.

In her candid revelation, Madrina lamented the lack of genuine friendships in the industry, pointing out that people only seem to remember each other when trending or when in need of collaboration. She expressed amusement at the change in tone when she declines such collaborations, emphasizing the superficial nature of these connections.

During her personal crisis, Madrina revealed that only two individuals, Kaha and Samklef, extended a helping hand with financial support. This revelation came as a stark contrast to her previous experiences of doing free collaborations and shows for fellow artists who, during her difficult times, chose to distance themselves.

Just a day earlier, Nigerian rapper Terry G had similarly called out his colleagues for neglecting him during tough times. Terry G expressed sadness at the lack of response from those he had previously helped, highlighting the apparent double standard in the industry.

This is not the first time Madrina has criticized the music industry. In the past, she confronted colleagues who belittled her, including an incident with upcoming singer Kussman. Despite facing snubs from entertainers like Omawumi, Helen Paul, and Flavour, Madrina refrained from public outbursts, choosing instead to leave the industry for personal reasons.

Last year, Madrina reflected on her tumultuous past, revealing experiences of witchcraft, betrayal by family, ex-lovers, and former associates. She hinted at the industry’s dark side, accusing it of introducing artists to unholy practices that eventually lead to the destruction of lives.
