Celebrity makeup artist and actor Mustapha Sholagbade’s baby mama, Adewunmi Fatai, has expressed her discontent with the Yoruba movie industry’s fashion choices at the recent premiere of Mercy Aigbe’s movie, “Ada Omo Daddy.”
Adewunmi, a renowned makeup artist, took to her Instagram to criticize the industry’s members for their perceived lack of style and sense of occasion.
The premiere, themed “Cultural Wedding Guest Extravaganza,” set the stage for attendees to showcase their best traditional attire. However, according to Adewunmi, some industry professionals fell short of expectations and arrived in what she described as “rags.” In her scathing post, she questioned the sensibility of those who attended the event inappropriately dressed, accusing them of disgracing both the senior and junior colleagues in the Yoruba movie industry.
Adewunmi emphasized that even though Mercy Aigbe specifically instructed attendees to wear their best traditional wear, some individuals failed to adhere to the directive. She suggested that bouncers should have prevented those inappropriately dressed from entering the venue. Adewunmi’s criticism sheds light on the fashion choices within the Yoruba movie industry and their impact on the industry’s image.
In the comment section, many individuals echoed Adewunmi’s sentiments, expressing their disappointment and emphasizing the need for industry professionals to dress appropriately for events. Some commenters referenced the selective invitations by Funke Akindele, suggesting that these fashion lapses might be a reason for such exclusivity.
