Mary Njoku Emphasizes the Role of Mothers in Child Development

Renowned Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy Njoku, has recently offered a heartfelt piece of advice to men. In it, she emphasises the crucial role mothers play in the lives of their children. Mary Njoku passionately expressed her belief that a mother is the most influential mentor a child can have. She urged men to recognize and appreciate their wives’ significance in raising brilliant, determined, and successful individuals.

Drawing attention to an apparent contradiction, Mary highlighted how many men aspire for their children to become achievers and champions in various fields. However, they fail to treat their wives with the respect and support they deserve. In buttressing her point, she drew an analogy. She stated that-

just as a fowl cannot raise a tiger, men must prepare to send their lambs—referring to their children—into the challenging jungle of life.

Mary Njoku’s message implicitly conveys the notion that a gentle and nurturing wife and mother alone cannot raise children to become fierce and resilient individuals and emphasizes the need for men to understand and actively participate in the parenting journey, ensuring that their children receive the guidance, mentorship, and support necessary to thrive in society.

She further urged men to be mindful of what they wish for and to acknowledge the pivotal role played by mothers in shaping the future of their children.
