Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Mary Remmy Njoku, used her two daughters to promote love and unity as Nigeria celebrates its Independence Day on October 1, 2024.
While many people posted personal photos to mark the day, Mary took a different approach by sharing images of her daughters dressed in traditional outfits representing various Nigerian cultures. Though the outfits don’t reflect Mary’s own cultural background, she used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of unity in diversity.
On Instagram, Mary Njoku posted the photos with the simple but powerful message:
Unity in diversity. Happy Independence Day.”
This isn’t the first time the actress has taken to social media to share her thoughts on important matters. Previously, Mary advised Nigerian women to be cautious, warning that in Nigeria, victims are often blamed, even in cases of mysterious deaths.
Mary is married to Jason Njoku, and the couple has three children. Earlier this year, she captured attention with stunning pre-wedding photos when she and her husband renewed their vows on their 10th wedding anniversary. The actress made headlines by walking down the aisle again, accompanied by her bridal train, which included fellow actresses Mary Lazarus, Moyo Lawal, Uche Ogbodo, and others.
