Maureen Esisi Reveals She is Still Legally Married to Ex-Husband

Maureen Esisi, the ex-wife of Nollywood actor Blossom Chukwujekwu, has disclosed that they are still legally married, despite their separation and his subsequent remarriage.

In a recent interview with *The House Chronicles*, the influencer and socialite revealed that she never signed any divorce papers, meaning their marriage is technically still valid.

My separation happened way before it went public. I am not divorced; technically, I am still married. When you say you are divorced, it means you signed papers, right?” Maureen explained.

During the interview, Maureen also criticized her former in-laws, recounting how Blossom’s mother would give her reasons why she couldn’t divorce him, yet accepted the separation when Blossom declared he was done with the marriage.

All I did was defend him, and I wasn’t defending him because I needed to but because regardless of whatever happened, I am never going to stop saying he is a good person. I will call his mom, and she will give me reasons why we cannot divorce. When he said he was done, they were okay with it. People say he dodged a bullet with me, but that’s extreme because if we really want to analyze things, I dodged a bullet,” Maureen stated.

Maureen and Blossom got married in 2015, but their marriage ended in 2019 due to irreconcilable differences. Despite fulfilling all the criteria necessary for being a good wife, Maureen implied that she had married into the wrong family.

Blossom has since moved on and married Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s niece on May 21, 2022. Maureen reacted to the news with a jibe at her ex for marrying an older woman, which led to backlash and accusations of being a bitter ex. She eventually apologized to his new wife after vowing to tell her side of the story.

Last year, Maureen, also known as Red Vigor on Instagram, shared disturbing messages she received from a troll wishing her death and barrenness. The troll vowed to ensure she never remarries and remains barren.

In response to Maureen’s latest revelation, social media users have voiced their support and urged her to consider legal action for bigamy.

One user, I Am Oyinsexy, wrote,

She should take him to court; this is bigamy.”

Another user, Black Blogger Hub, commented,

This is so wrong. How do you move on to do a church wedding without signing divorce papers from your previous marriage? It’s not even the bigamy aspect of this, but the fact that you leave things hanging, that’s huge. It can take an emotional toll on the other party that wasn’t ready for divorce. It’s just wrong.”

Jenny Ham45 added,

Ah, and the man is married to a Pastor. Oh Chim!”

Fortunista By Ivy remarked,

So how did he remarry if they have not been divorced? She can sue him for bigamy.”

Odogwu Nwanyi and Ekene Imolorhe both pointed out the issue of bigamy, with the latter stating,

Then Blossom is obviously committing bigamy.”

As the controversy unfolds, the public continues to react to the complicated marital status of Maureen Esisi and Blossom Chukwujekwu, with many calling for legal and moral clarity on the matter.
