Job Description
The MEAL Intern is responsible for documentation of all MEAL-related activities, as well as supporting all other MEAL-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are undertaken as planned
- Support the Co-coordinator implementation of assessments and surveys, including baseline, mid-term review, and end line.
- Support field visits to monitor progress and support monitoring and evaluation activities, including emergency response.
- Provide support to program staff when needed, to organize lessons learned workshops during project implementation or during the end of the project.
- Participate in the designing and implementation of studies, assessments, research, and learning in cooperation with program staff.
- Support the organization with the response and Feedback mechanism at all levels.
- Arrange logistics for monitoring trips and evaluations and learning events at the office and field when required
- Work with MEAL Officer and ensure data management safety and confidentiality
- Travel to the field when needed
- Other tasks required by supervisor.
Qualification
- Experience in Stata and SPSS will be advantageous
- Experience in program monitoring and evaluation, including the setting of indicators and collection, analysis and presentation of data relating to program work is preferred
- Quick learner with ability to think strategically and creatively
- Excellent ability to meet tight deadlines accurately and on time
Desirable skills:
- Proficiency in the use of Kobo toolbox and research.
- Previous experience using analysis tool (Excel, SPSS or Power BI)
- Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating M&E systems from project initiation to close out
- Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, mixed method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Experience in planning and managing surveys, developing and refining data collection tools, and with data quality assessments and oversight
- Communication skills (English, Hausa and Kanuri is added advantage)
