Gloria also had the honour of presenting Markle with the award. She shared a lighthearted anecdote, reminiscing about coming home from school. She would settle down with her TV tray dinner and catch a glimpse of the magazine on the coffee table.
The Duchess expressed her admiration for Ms Magazine and its role in her upbringing.
She revealed that the magazine’s presence served as a reminder of the possibilities and impact of women’s voices. Markle’s story showcased the influence and inspiration that can be derived from media, even in everyday moments.
Attending the event in style, the 41-year-old Duchess dazzled in a strapless gold Johanna Ortiz dress, worth $1,850, featuring an elegant key-hole cutout at the chest. She then completed her ensemble with strappy gold heels from Tom Ford, valued at $1,350, and carried a matching clutch bag by Carolina Herrera, priced at $1,100.
Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, was also present at the gala to support his wife as she received the prestigious “Women of Vision” honour from her close friend, Gloria Steinem. Organizers praised Markle’s lifelong advocacy for women and girls, highlighting her dedication to promoting gender equality.
