Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has shared a heartfelt message to parents involved in custody battles, urging them to prioritize the well-being of their children.
The mother of two posted an email she received from a man narrating his struggles with co-parenting. The man, who related deeply to the storyline of her movie Ada Omo Daddy, shared how his efforts to care for his child were hindered by his ex-partner’s actions.
Reacting to the email, Mercy encouraged parents to set aside their differences and focus on creating a healthier environment for their children.
“Got this in my mail.
Parents really need to do better.
How about setting differences aside and focusing on the well-being and what’s best for the kids?
Ada Omo Daddy is more than a movie; it depicts some people’s stories, realities, and struggles.
Ada Omo Daddy is touching lives.
It’s a must-see for everyone.
Showing on @naijaonnetflix and @circuitstreams.”
Mercy’s daughter, Michelle, recently expressed pride in her mother’s accomplishments with the film. She shared how thrilled she was by the positive reviews and the success of her mother’s first cinematic project.
Mercy’s husband, Kazim Adeoti, also praised her resilience and strength, celebrating the impressive results of Ada Omo Daddy at the cinemas and on streaming platforms.
Ada Omo Daddy marked Mercy Aigbe’s first foray into cinema production and became a major hit, grossing ₦180.7 million and securing the position of the third-highest-grossing movie of the year. Competing alongside established Nollywood stars like Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, this achievement was a significant milestone for Mercy.
Late last year, the movie garnered 10 nominations, further solidifying its impact on the industry. Mercy expressed her gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a humbling honour.
