Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe announces burial date of her late mother, Madam Grace Abisola Owodunni, months after the sad loss. The actress revealed that the burial will take place on November 29, 2025, in Lekki, Lagos.
Sharing a flyer of the burial arrangements on her Instagram page, Aigbe disclosed that the asoebi for women, which includes five yards of fabric and a gele, costs ₦200,000, while for men, five yards goes for ₦150,000 and ten yards for ₦300,000.
In her caption, the actress described the past few weeks as emotionally and mentally draining, but expressed gratitude for the love and support she has received from her circle. She also appreciated a close friend who gifted her a cow ahead of the ceremony.

Back in September, Mercy Aigbe announced the death of her mother, sharing a candlelight photo on Instagram with the caption, “RIP Mum.” The actress later expressed gratitude to fans, colleagues, and well-wishers for their comforting messages, prayers, and support during the difficult period.
Just days ago, Aigbe opened up again about how planning a loved one’s burial has taken an emotional toll on her. She shared how difficult it was to visit cemeteries, look at vaults, and pick out coffins, describing it as an experience she could hardly put into words.
Her grief has resonated with fans and fellow celebrities, many of whom have offered condolences and encouragement.
The year has been a tough one for several Nollywood stars. In August, actor Odunlade Adekola lost his father, Pastor N.A. Adekola, and shared the sad news online with an emotional tribute. Similarly, Adekola Tijani lost his mother and expressed his pain in a heartfelt post on Instagram.
