On Saturday, The National Institute of Migration reported that officials in Mexico had discovered 129 migrants in the back of a cargo truck.
A statement reported that authorities found “migrants from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and India” on Friday night in the eastern state of Veracruz.
At least eight individuals have died due to the heat wave now affecting Mexico.
The National Meteorological Service predicts a temperature of 44 degrees Celsius (111 degrees Fahrenheit) on Sunday. The vehicle carrying the migrants was discovered in the village of Sayula de Aleman. According to the migration institute, they sent 51 Guatemalan migrants back there.
They sent the rest to a migration station and moved 19 unaccompanied youngsters from Guatemala and Honduras to a particular facility.
Thousands of migrants cross Mexico daily to reach the United States, many escaping poverty and violence in their home countries.
They frequently become victims of human traffickers or organised crime organisations.
The National Institute of Migration reported that kidnappers abducted over 2,100 in Mexico last year.
