The controversy surrounding the late Nigerian musician Mohbad continues as the Lagos State Police have revealed that Mohbad’s father has not yet applied to claim his son’s body. Despite the completion of the autopsy, the singer’s body remains in the morgue, awaiting the father’s formal request for release.

According to a police source speaking on condition of anonymity, only the father can apply for the release of the corpse. The police have assured that if the father submits an application, the body will be released immediately. However, the source emphasized that the delay is on the part of Mohbad’s father, who has refused to make the necessary application.

The father insists on a DNA test before accepting the body, expressing concerns about the paternity of Mohbad’s seven-month-old son, Liam. Mr. Aloba, Mohbad’s father, believes that a DNA test is necessary to ascertain the true paternity of the child.

The singer passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day. Following public demand for an autopsy, the body was exhumed on September 21, and it has not been reburied since then. The autopsy results are yet to be made public.

The controversy deepens as Mr. Aloba insists on a DNA test, raising questions about Mohbad’s son and his legacy. The situation has sparked reactions from the public, with some supporting the father’s demand for a DNA test, while others criticize the delay and emphasize the importance of moving forward.
