Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has replied to a fan who criticized her over her role in her colleague Wumi Toriola’s latest movie, Konge 3. The fan confessed that while she used to admire Mosun, her perception changed completely after watching her character in the film.

The fan wrote:

“I really like you, but from the day I watched Konge, I have a different perspective about you.”

Reacting to the comment, Mosun explained that she was simply playing a scripted role and doing her job as an actress. She highlighted the irony, stating that if she hadn’t performed well, viewers would still complain.

She responded:

“Haaaa. It’s just a movie o. If I don’t act well, you’ll still complain. I delivered a good job, and now you’re hating me.”

Sharing the exchange on her Instagram page, Mosun reiterated that her performance was purely fictional and not a reflection of her true personality. She revealed that, just like many people, she has experienced betrayal from friends and even family members. The actress urged fans to focus on the story’s lesson instead of attacking actors.

She wrote:

“It’s a MOVIE! I got the script, stepped into character, and delivered for everyone’s entertainment. That’s why it’s called make-believe.

NOTE: That’s not me in real life. I’ve had my own share of betrayal from friends and family. Watch the movie, learn, and move on. Don’t hate the actors.”

This comes after Mosun announced her return to the movie industry in 2023, years after stepping away from acting. In a past interview, she revealed that she took a break to focus on raising her children and supporting her husband, politician Kayode Oduoye. During that period, she also managed her beauty business while maintaining a lifestyle that aligned with her husband’s political ambitions.
