Ugo Nwokolo, the reigning Mr. Nigeria, has caused a stir online after revealing one of his biggest sexual turn-ons in a past interview.
The model and pageant winner shocked the internet when he admitted to being attracted to “poor girls,” claiming the less privileged they are, the more drawn he is to them.
In the interview with Nedu on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Ugo explained that women from poor backgrounds are more dedicated and committed to their relationships, citing how they wake up early to pray for their partners. He further advised men to marry women from less privileged backgrounds, claiming they have higher fertility rates.
He stated,
Poor girls turn me on. The poorer the girl, the more attracted I am to her. It is only a poor woman who would wake up by 7 am to pray for you. Marry a poor girl because when it comes to fertility, poor women can be so fertile.”
His controversial statements sparked outrage among social media users, many of whom criticized him for his views. Comments ranged from disappointment to outright anger, with some pointing out the disrespectful nature of his remarks.
One user, Alfie_9991, commented,
This is why we have so many dysfunctional teenagers nowadays because papa no get sense.” Others like Ebony Tina_ expressed relief that their male relatives were not making such embarrassing statements online, while Beauty Ujay lamented, “See what a grown-up man is vomiting, all because of visibility.”
Many saw Ugo’s words as a means to manipulate vulnerable women for personal gain, with Rodrickg stating, “Yeah, so it’s easy to manipulate them with small money you have. Mumu, nobody even knows who you are.”
The backlash highlights the dangers of influential figures sharing harmful, outdated views, especially when they hold a position like Mr. Nigeria, which represents the nation. Some users, like Cindy Lawrence, even suggested that Ugo should be ashamed of himself, while others, like Joyce Jay, accused him of mocking poor women.
With his statement causing significant controversy, Ugo Nwokolo’s comments serve as a reminder of the power of public figures and the importance of considering the impact of their words.
