The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, DASH, Lafia, Nasarawa State, has launched a 72-hour protest strike, which begins immediately.

The decision to go on strike was made on Tuesday morning, only hours after a traumatic occurrence at the state-owned hospital.

A doctor on duty was assaulted by a male relative of a patient whose name is private.

Protesting against ongoing violence against its members and other healthcare professionals, the association, together with hospital staff, held a rally on hospital grounds.

Armed with banners expressing diverse slogans, they appealed for immediate assistance from government officials and other relevant entities to stem the spike in attacks against healthcare personnel in the state.
