Dr. Michael Nwoko, the brother of Senator Ned Nwoko, has appealed for privacy amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his brother’s marriage to Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels.
Taking to Instagram, Dr. Nwoko urged fans and the public to remain calm and understanding, describing the issue as a private family matter that would be handled internally.
“I respectfully crave the indulgence of all fans and people of goodwill to be calm and continue to demonstrate understanding, as whatever is happening between Distinguished Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko and his dear wife, Mrs. Regina Daniels Nwoko, is a private family matter. It will be resolved internally. Thank you all, and God bless.”
His statement comes after Ned Nwoko publicly alleged that Regina was battling drug and alcohol abuse, which he claimed had led to violent outbursts and property destruction in their home. The senator maintained that he had never been violent toward his wives and said his efforts to help Regina seek professional treatment had been resisted.
Just a week before the controversy erupted, Regina had proudly shown off a new diamond ring her husband gifted her after she misplaced her previous one. On her birthday, Ned had publicly praised her as a “creative soul” and a “loving mother,” celebrating her growth and grace.
However, things took a different turn when an old video resurfaced online showing Regina smoking with her siblings, Sammy West and Destiny. The clip, posted on TikTok, sparked massive reactions from fans who expressed disappointment and concern.
One user wrote, “When a person from lack suddenly stumbles upon generational wealth, it takes huge discipline to not start misbehaving.”
Another commented, “She didn’t just start taking this because she likes it; she’s clearly fighting something and using this to ease herself.”
Following Ned’s allegations, Regina’s elder brother, Sweezzy, took to Instagram to clear the air. He dismissed claims that his sister was battling drug abuse, stating that no marriage is without challenges.
“No marriage without problems, but remember, I decided not to speak. There’s no perfect couple. Regina Daniels is not affiliated with any drug abuse or misuse. She is not granting any interviews or trying to feed y’all timelines. Anything that goes up must come down. Shout-out to y’all for your concerns and love,” he wrote.
Similarly, Regina’s other brother, Sammy West, called out Ned for allegedly assaulting her. He made it clear that, while the internet might mock his sister, he would never tolerate the abuse of women.
Earlier in the year, when Regina returned to social media after previous marital tension, Sweezzy had also thrown shade at Ned, thanking God that “the road to success wasn’t in anyone’s father’s house.”
Meanwhile, veteran actress Georgina Onuoha has also weighed in on the situation. In a lengthy Instagram post, she criticized Ned Nwoko for publicly shaming his wife rather than protecting her.
“Within less than twenty-four hours of these claims emerging, Senator Nwoko publicly released a statement portraying his wife, the mother of his children, as a drug addict. Regardless of the truth, that decision raises serious questions about motive and responsibility,” she wrote.
“What responsible man publicly shames the mother of his children, knowing their kids will one day read everything said about her? Such an act does not reflect love or leadership—it reflects ego and self-preservation.”
Georgina further questioned how a young woman who married under Ned’s supervision at 18 could suddenly be described as a drug addict, suggesting neglect or emotional distress may have played a role.
