Neo Akpofure, the popular BBNaija star, recently opened up about his journey to success, sharing insights into his financial struggles before fame.
In a reflective post, Neo recounted his days as a Bolt driver in Calabar, recalling a particular experience from five years ago.
He wrote,
5 years ago today, I was still driving on Bolt in Calabar. I picked up Mc Galaxy and his associate; he was craving bush meat and palm wine from somewhere called Atimbo. We enjoyed the bush meat and palm wine before dropping them off at the airport. Fast forward to today, I look back and see how far I’ve come. If I had given up on my dreams then, na me for fk up.”
While many found Neo’s story inspiring, some trolls attempted to diminish his success by claiming he was never truly poor. Neo didn’t hold back in his response, addressing the critics directly:
It’s sad that comprehension is your problem. I didn’t mention anything about being p**r or rich. My point is that anyone can have dreams and aspirations, regardless of their financial situation.”
Despite the negative comments, Neo received overwhelming support from fans who appreciated his journey. One user, pri.nce.ss_azubuike, commented,
You can still be a rich man pickin and still be useless. So he deserves to give him some accolades; at least he made a name for himself.” Another user, mheenarh, noted, “People have wahala with everything. If he had br@gged about his father’s wealth, una go still see something talk.”
Others questioned the assumptions made about Bolt drivers, with 5k.boot.shop writing, “Why do people automatically think Uber or Bolt drivers are poor?”
