Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, a former chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), has been appointed as board chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Elegbeleye, a former director-general of the National Sports Commission and former deputy chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Youth and Sports, led the IMC that expertly managed the Super 6 and the previous NPFL season, earning praise from the NFF and other stakeholders.
Along with Elegbeleye, other members of the new NPFL board include Mallam Mohammed Nasiru Sa’idu, Barr. Poubeni Ogun, Mr. Daniel Amokachi, Dr. Okey Kpalukwu, Mallam Suleiman Umar, and Mr. Dominic Iorfa.
Prince Davidson Owumi is the Chief Operating Officer, and Barr. Danlami Ibrahim serves as the Secretary and Legal Advisor.
The new NPFL board will be in office for two years, just like the boards of the Nigeria National League, the Nigeria Women Football League, and the Nigeria Nation-Wide League One that were all inaugurated on Monday.
