Nigerian social media user, Agozi Samuel, has publicly apologized to comedian and actor Ayo Makun for making defamatory allegations against him.
In a now-deleted Facebook post, Samuel had accused AY of having an affair with May Edochie, leading to the dissolution of her marriage to Yul Edochie.
Ayo Makun responded by filing a police petition against Samuel, claiming defamation that had allegedly harmed his reputation spanning over a decade. The comedian expressed frustration with the lies circulating on social media.
In a video circulating online, Agozi Samuel retracted his statements and publicly apologized to Ayo Makun. He clarified that AY is the father of his second daughter, and there is no intimate relationship with May Edochie. Samuel attributed his earlier statements to economic challenges, stating that he did it for clout and financial reasons.
Meanwhile, concerns have been raised about the state of Ayo Makun’s marriage with Mabel Makun. The interior designer hinted at a marital crisis through cryptic posts online, citing threats to her life. A further investigation revealed that Ayo Makun and his wife have unfollowed each other on Instagram, sparking discussions about the relationship. This comes as a surprise, considering the couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in November, with Ayo praising Mabel in December.
