The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Monday avenged their first-leg defeat to Guinea-Bissau as they downed the Djurtus 1-0 in front of their home fans.
Moses Simon stepped up in the 30th minute to convert from the spot after right-back Samuel Osayi was hacked down after a surging run inside the box of the hosts.
Guinea-Bissau produced one of the biggest shocks of the qualifying series when they defeated a star-studded Nigeria side in Abuja on Friday to overtake the Eagles at the top of the group standings
In spite of the win, there are mixed reactions as Samuel Chukwueze is trending on social media.

You can see why Osimhen scores so many goals for Napoli, yet struggles for Nigeria really. You cannot have players like Chukwueze and Simon on the flanks who are too individualistic to do the basics right. Talent and intelligence must come hand in hand. It’s a no brainier.

In spite of Nigeria’s win, the fans were not too happy with the performance of some players, especially Chukwueze, and believe that he should have done more to supply the ball to Victor Osimhen.
The three-time African champions have two points more than Guinea-Bissau and four more than Sierra Leone, who defeated Sao Tome and Principe 2-0 in the other group match.
Nigeria still have to play Sierra Leone away and Sao Tome and Principe at home, with the Eagles set to book their spot at the next edition of the AFCON if they avoid defeat in both games.
