Telecom providers in the nation may launch another round of network disconnections for users who do not have a sufficient linkage between their National Identification Number (NIN) and their Subscriber Identity Module (SIM).
This disconnection, which will take place on Friday, March 29, 2024, is in accordance with the Nigerian Communications Commission’s (NCC) instruction that all registered SIMs that are not correctly linked to the NIN be banned until repaired or disconnected from the network completely.
The exercise, which began on February 28, 2024, is a continuing procedure meant by the federal government to checkmate the actions of bandits, kidnappers, and other criminals that disrupt the country’s tranquil security climate.
The NCC disconnection instruction is being implemented in phases. The first phase began on February 28, 2024, and the second phase is scheduled for March 29, 2024.
According to the report, the third phase may take place in April 2024.
