Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday couldn’t hide her joy after crossing paths with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at a star-studded event in Lagos.
The actress, fondly known as NBS, shared a touching video on Instagram from the weekend celebration of celebrity designer Seyi Vodi’s 50th birthday. In the video, she is seen respectfully walking up to the monarch and kneeling to greet him. The Ooni warmly responds, sparking admiration from fans in the comments.
Captioning the post, Nkechi wrote:
Always a pleasure linking up with my daddy, His Imperial Majesty @ooniadimulaife. Good to see you after a long time, daddy.”
This isn’t the first time Nkechi has publicly shown admiration for the revered monarch. In 2023, she joined the people of Ife to celebrate the Ooni’s 7th coronation anniversary. She posted a heartfelt tribute and prayer, expressing gratitude for his influence in her life.
Back in 2022, Nkechi made headlines when a video of her twerking at the Queen Moremi pageantry, held at the Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife, went viral. Her bold moves sparked conversations online, with many calling it one of the most unexpected moments at the royal event.
At the height of the Ooni’s series of marriages that year, Nkechi humorously declared her interest in becoming one of his wives. She even created an Instagram page dedicated to the proposal and asked the public to refer to her as Olori Ibukunoluwa.
