Nollywood actor Lekan Olatunji has written a heart-wrenching tribute to honor his late wife on the first anniversary of her passing.
Last year, the actor tragically lost his beloved wife, the mother of his three sons, after a lengthy battle with illness that required surgery. Despite spending millions on her health, her life could not be saved.
A year later, the pain of her absence still weighs heavily on Lekan’s heart. Over the weekend, the actor visited her grave and took to his Instagram page to share an emotional message. In his tribute, he expressed how not a day passes without him thinking of her, describing her as his strength, anchor, and constant companion.
Lekan fondly remembered his late wife as a beacon of light in their home, a woman of deep faith, and a prayer warrior who supported their family through every challenge. He highlighted her unwavering belief in God, which provided their family with strength, as well as her deep love for their three sons. He noted that her nurturing spirit and balance of discipline and tenderness have left a lasting impression on their children, who continue to honor her memory.
In his heartfelt message, Lekan shared the difficulty of her absence, but he also expressed comfort in knowing that her spirit continues to guide and watch over them.
As we honour your memory on this first year of your passing, we are not just marking the end of time, but celebrating the beautiful, meaningful life you lived. You will forever remain in our hearts,” he wrote.
Earlier this year, Lekan opened up in an interview with actress Biola Bayo, recalling how he sold two of his cars in a desperate attempt to save his wife’s life. Unfortunately, his efforts were in vain. The tragic loss came just a year after Lekan survived a ghastly accident that nearly claimed his life.
