Nollywood actress Aolat Ayonimofe recently experienced a harrowing incident when she was robbed in traffic in Ogudu, Lagos.
The Yoruba actress shared her ordeal on Instagram, revealing that she was attacked by traffic robbers who snatched her expensive necklace, leaving her with bruises on her neck. Aolat expressed her shock at how bystanders witnessed the incident but were unable to intervene.
Despite the deep wound on her neck, Aolat expressed gratitude that the situation wasn’t worse and urged the public to stay safe. Her post garnered sympathy from her colleagues in the Nollywood industry, with many offering their support and thanking God for her safety.
Actors and actresses like Regina Chukwu, Yomi Fabiyi, Olayinka Solomon, Bidemi Kosoko, and others left comforting messages, expressing their relief that Aolat was not more severely harmed.
This incident adds to a growing list of similar occurrences among celebrities, with many sharing their traumatic experiences of being robbed. For instance, filmmaker Chinney Love recently recounted being robbed on her way to the airport, and reality TV star Yvonne Godswill shared about a robbery incident earlier this year. Last year, actress Ruby Ojiakor also had a close call when robbers stormed a plaza where she kept her car, though miraculously, her vehicle was left untouched.
