The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has urged Abuja citizens to stay watchful and report any suspicious activity ahead of the 2024 Independence Day celebrations.

SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, made the appeal in a statement released on Monday in Abuja.

She asked people to use the command’s emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653 to report suspicious activities in their area.

The FCT PPRO stated that the command had strategically positioned appropriate people and equipment throughout the FCT in preparation for the celebration.

According to her, the deployment was made to guarantee that the Independence Day celebrations in FCT ran well.

She noted that the deployment will comprise explosive ordinance disposal (EOD), people, anti-riot equipment, and visibility police, among other things.

Adeh stated that traffic diversions in FCT will be constructed in places likely to see huge crowds, such as Central Area and Eagle Square.
