Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has ignited a heated debate online after comparing rising female artists Tems and Ayra Starr to music legends Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Fela Kuti.
Speaking on the ‘Cocktails & Takeaways’ podcast, he argued that Tems and Ayra Starr have contributed more to Afrobeat than their male counterparts, citing the challenges female artists face in the industry, including sexual advances.
Odumodublvck’s comments drew mixed reactions, with some supporting his viewpoint on the struggles of female artists while others criticized him. This controversy prompted Wizkid to respond during a recent interactive session with fans, where he defended Ayra Starr and Tems’ talent and dismissed comparisons.
Earlier, Odumodublvck had also stirred controversy by asserting that no one paved the way for his success in the music industry, sparking a feud with fellow artists and further dividing opinions within the music community.
