President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to inaugurate the groundbreaking of West Africa’s largest cotton and apparel industry in Ogun State.
Governor Dapo Abiodun announced that the facility, located within the state’s Special Agro-Processing Zone, is projected to employ approximately 40,000 people upon completion.
The industry will be strategically situated near the Ogun State Agro-Cargo and Passenger Airport, forming part of an aerotropolis designed to enhance efficiency and production.
This development aligns with the state’s economic blueprint, emphasising infrastructure, social welfare, education, youth employment, and agriculture.
Governor Abiodun highlighted that the initiative is a collaborative effort between the state government and private sector partners, aiming to boost industrialisation, cotton production and economic growth in the region.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled to take place soon, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s drive towards economic diversification and job creation.
