Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli was left teary-eyed after receiving a heartfelt surprise from her dedicated team on her 47th birthday.
On April 22, Omoni’s team surprised her at home with a cake, expressing their desire to be the first to celebrate her special day. The actress, touched by the gesture, shared a clip of the moment on Instagram, praising her team for their love and commitment.
I honestly have the best team in the world! They closed the set quite late but still came to surprise me because they really wanted to be the first to give me a birthday cake. I love them so much. Help me celebrate them, besties! These men and women work tirelessly on the hit movies on Omoni Oboli TV on YouTube,” she wrote.
This surprise comes during a remarkable phase in Omoni’s career. After a five-year hiatus from cinema, she returned with her movie The Uprising. At the film’s premiere, the actress was moved to tears when her partners presented her with a brand-new car, which she described as a symbol of her growth, passion, and impact on Nollywood.
Beyond her achievements in filmmaking, Omoni has also gained international recognition. Last November, she received a certificate of recognition from the Mayor of Brampton, Canada, for her impactful work on The Uprising. She expressed gratitude for the honor and the Mayor’s warmth during her visit.
In her characteristic style, Omoni reintroduced herself in a follow-up post as a multifaceted woman—a wife, mother, grandmother, filmmaker, and more. With pride, she stated,
