Position Overview:
As Operations Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the operational efficiency and effectiveness of Smarterise. With a strong background in Electrical Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing energy projects, ensuring they align with our mission and objectives. In addition, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, optimise processes, and ensure seamless coordination between different functions within the company. This role demands a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of navigating a fast-paced startup environment. OPERATION LEAD
Responsibilities:
- Operational Strategy:
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s overall business goals and growth objectives. Job
- Continuously assess and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.
- Analyse existing workflows, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Identify training and development needs, and implement programs to upskill team members.
- Energy Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of energy projects, ensuring they are executed on time and within budget.
- Leverage your background in electrical engineering to provide technical expertise and guidance for energy-related initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as R&D, Data, Engineering, Sales, and Finance to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of operational efforts with broader business objectives.
- Coordinate projects across our operating regions; notably across West Africa. Willingness and ability to travel is expected.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and certifications.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential operational disruptions.
- Data-driven Decision Making:
- Leverage data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate operational performance.
- Utilise insights to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement. OPERATION LEAD
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in project coordination, and/or operations management, preferably in a startup or cleantech environment.
- Working knowledge of the power and utilities indsutry
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization. Ability to communicate in French is a plus. OPERATION LEAD
