Asisat Oshoala marked her return to the Super Falcons with a goal. They edged the 2023 women’s World Cup debutant Haiti 2-1 in an international friendly game in Antalya, Turkey on Friday.

The last time Oshoala made an appearance for the Falcons was in July, at the 2022 Women’s Cup of Nations.

The friendly game which was played inside the Emir Sports Stadium complex in Antalya, Turkey also saw a goal from Esther Okoronkwo.

Also, Desire Oparanozie, who has been out of the team for a long time, made a return after coming on in the second half.

The Nigeria senior women’s national team made it two consecutive wins after snapping out of their seven-match winless run.

Head coach Randy Waldrum made four changes to the team that defeated Costa Rica 1-0 at the maiden Revelation Cup in Mexico last month as Chiamaka Nnadozie, Halimat Ayinde, Onome Ebi, and Asisat Oshoala replaced Yetunde Balogun, Osinachi Ohale, Christy Ucheibe, and Ifeoma Onumonu.

The Super Falcons will next square up against World Cup co-hosts New Zealand on Tuesday as the former African champions continue their preparations for the 2023 Mundial.
