The internet has been abuzz following a bold prophecy by South African pastor John Anosike about Nigerian music sensation Davido.
The clergyman’s revelation during a service at New World Faith Ministries in Cape Town has divided opinions, as he claimed that Davido is divinely anointed to become Nigeria’s president and lead the nation to economic transformation.
In a viral video, Pastor John Anosike declared that Davido’s secular music career and recent reunion with his daughter are significant signs of his destined greatness. He described a vision where he saw Davido kneeling before Jesus, who anointed him as a servant chosen to unite Nigeria.
“God has put oil on him. He calls him ‘My servant.’ For he shall be the president of Nigeria and shall unite the country,” the pastor said.
The prophecy has sparked a wave of reactions across social media platforms, with some netizens supporting the idea and others expressing skepticism:
-
@Otobohu: “If Davido nah president, VDM nah Vice President.”
-
@Vivianbricks: “This message is deep.”
-
@Jennyglad8: “I prefer him over what we have now.”
-
@okm_herbal: “What shall we say today? If Davido will unite the whole of Africa, what shall we say?”
-
@Evelyn_agha: “I go vote am without blinking. Davido for president.”
Though primarily a musician, Davido has actively participated in Nigerian politics over the years, particularly in his home state, Osun. He played a pivotal role in the Osun State Governorship campaign, where he passionately supported his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who eventually won the election.
Davido has also been vocal about national political issues, including the Edo State gubernatorial election, where he criticized police directives and described INEC as “the most dangerous institution in Nigeria.”
Senator Ben Murray Bruce previously predicted Davido’s potential in politics, suggesting he could become the Governor of Osun State, citing his political DNA and family’s influence.
