Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo is basking in gratitude after being honoured with a Hall of Fame award in Ghana.

The respected actress was recognised over the weekend at the Reffa Awards, where her impact and long-standing contribution to African cinema were celebrated. Videos from the event later surfaced online, capturing the moment she received the honour.

Sharing her reaction on Instagram, Patience Ozokwo expressed appreciation to the award organisers and to Ghana for the recognition. She noted how fulfilling it feels to be celebrated during her lifetime, describing the moment as deeply meaningful to her journey.

Her post drew warm reactions from colleagues across the industry, with many actors and filmmakers congratulating her and acknowledging her influence. Stars including Uche Jombo, Susan Peters, Moyo Lawal, Monalisa Chinda, Eucharia Anunobi, and others flooded her comment section with messages of praise.

Popularly known as Mama G, Patience Ozokwo’s career spans decades, and she remains one of Nollywood’s most recognisable faces. Last year, she openly sought support while counting down to 45 years in the film industry, reflecting on how her career began with determination and consistency.

In 2023, the actress also received a Lifetime Achievement Award, after which she publicly thanked her children for their sacrifices and understanding during the many years she spent on film sets.

Her influence extends beyond acting alone. Comedian Basketmouth once recalled how supportive she was during the production of his movie, noting that her encouragement left a lasting impression on him.
