The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rescheduled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting from October 24 to November 28.

Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, said this while reading a statement released by the Forum following its expanded meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.

He stated that following the consultation meeting of the party’s different organs, the PDP agreed that the NEC meeting, which was initially set for October 24, has been postponed for November 28.

According to him, the decision was made to guarantee that the party enters the next Ondo gubernatorial elections on November 16 with the unity and strength required to topple the state’s All Progressive Congress (APC) administration.

While underlining the need for unity in the face of adversaries’ efforts to undermine the party, Mohammed urged all members to avoid divisive remarks.

He advised members to avoid divisive remarks that might jeopardize ongoing efforts to grow the party so that it can successfully serve as the country’s major opposition prior to assuming power in 2027.

The meeting was attended by members of the PDP-GF, the Board of Trustees, the NWC, the National Assembly leadership of the PDP Caucus, and the Forum of Former Governors of the party.
