Big Brother Naija star Pere Egbi has joined the long list of celebrities and fans celebrating Cross Okonkwo’s engagement to his fiancée, Chinonso.
On Tuesday night, videos from the romantic proposal surfaced online, showing Cross on bended knee as Chinonso said a heartfelt “Yes.”
Taking to Twitter (now known as X), Pere revealed that Cross had once spoken to him about Chinonso during one of her visits to Lagos. He recalled driving him to see her and listening to him affirm that she was the woman he wanted to marry.
“I remember when I drove you @crossdabossike and dropped you off to see her when she was visiting Lagos. We spoke so much about her. You said you’d marry her, and fast forward, you have. Proud of you, fam. I’m activating myself for groomsman duties. Let’s go!!!”
Cross confirmed Pere’s statement in the comment section, replying:
“Yhh, I remember, bro. Let’s go.”
Cross’s engagement comes after a series of speculations about his love life. Last year, he sparked relationship rumours with BBNaija All Stars winner Ilebaye, after the two were spotted looking cozy at an event.
In 2023, during an interview, Cross clarified his stance with Kim and addressed his infamous kiss with Ilebaye, which he described as “just for fun.” He admitted he had genuine feelings for Kim, adding that the more time they spent together in the house, the more he admired her qualities as a potential romantic partner.
