Peter Okoye, one-half of the iconic music duo Psquare, has written a heartfelt open letter to his twin brother, Paul Okoye, addressing the growing tension between them.
The letter, shared on Peter’s Instagram page, sheds light on the deep-rooted issues that have led to yet another fallout between the famous twins.
In the letter, Peter made it clear that he is not in competition with his brother or anyone else. He expressed his disappointment in seeing Paul grant several interviews where he consistently discredits Peter’s contributions to the group. According to Peter, Paul claimed in one such interview that he wrote 99% of Psquare’s songs, insinuating that Peter’s only contribution was a failure.
Peter also pointed out that Paul often speaks about Psquare using singular pronouns, whereas Peter always refers to the group in plural terms, emphasizing their unity. This distinction, Peter noted, reflects the growing divide between them.
One of the most painful aspects for Peter is Paul’s decision to team up with their elder brother, Jude Okoye, rather than working together to reclaim their top spot in the music industry. Peter accused Paul of marginalizing and humiliating him, as well as disrespecting his wife, family, talent, and ideas.
In his letter, Peter promised to reveal more details about the alleged arrest of Paul, which has been a topic of speculation. He also addressed rumors that he had filed a petition against his twin brother with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Peter clarified that while he did file a petition, it was directed solely at their elder brother, Jude, who he accused of secretly diverting Psquare’s funds to a private account.
The ongoing feud has sparked a flurry of reactions from fans and social media users, many of whom have expressed their support for Peter. Comments have poured in, praising Peter for his maturity in handling the situation, with many blaming Jude for the rift between the brothers.
Social media user Wendy Rose commented, “Is it natural for twins to have very different personalities? Peter here seems very mature and reasonable.” Another user, Everest Sports Ng, noted, “Evidently, Paul has something he’s bitter about Peter. He’s consistently discrediting his brother, and it’s not good for their image.”
The feud between the Okoye brothers has been a long and complicated one, with their relationship often playing out in the public eye. Despite their differences, fans continue to hold out hope that the brothers will eventually reconcile and continue making music together as Psquare.
