Peter Okoye reacts as wife spends Thanksgiving with Anita Okoye and her kids, and his response has set social media buzzing once again.
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye showed his support after his wife, Lola Omotayo, spent the American Thanksgiving holiday with her former sister-in-law, Anita Okoye, and the children in the US.
Anita had earlier shared a warm video of her Thanksgiving celebration, surrounded by her kids, close friends and Lola. Under the post, Peter dropped a simple comment: “Family,” to which Anita responded, “Fam Bam.”
This comes only days after Lola stirred conversations with her birthday message to Peter. She posted his photo, described him simply as the father of their children and offered prayers for him. Her choice of words raised eyebrows online, with many pointing out that she didn’t refer to him as her husband.
Still, Lola’s bond with Anita has always been visible. Despite Anita’s split from Paul Okoye, Lola has stayed solidly in her corner. When news of Paul’s remarriage surfaced, Lola shared a video of herself enjoying life with a caption that she was just living and minding her business. Shortly after, she praised Anita publicly, calling her the “one and only.”
Last year, when Anita earned her Master’s Degree in Arts and Design from Savannah College, Lola celebrated her proudly, describing her as a complete package. Peter himself also showed love, sending birthday wishes to Anita’s twins.
For Anita’s birthday in November, Lola expressed how proud she was of her, celebrating her strength and parenting journey. Anita, in return, said she was grateful to have Lola as a big sister, thanking her for always standing by her and championing her.
Anita’s Thanksgiving video also revealed she was on crutches after sustaining a tennis injury, yet she hosted her children and guests with a smile. She noted how thankful she was for her kids, her support system and the gift of resilience.
To recap, Anita filed for divorce in 2022, citing cheating, separation, fraud, and difficult experiences. In 2023, the Abuja High Court in Maitama granted the divorce with a monthly settlement of $20,000 and access to several properties. Paul later moved on with model Ivy Ifeoma, whom he married in May 2024, and they have since welcomed a child.
Although Paul and Anita managed to stay civil for a while, things changed in August 2024 when they unfollowed each other after Paul purchased a second home in the US, reportedly for his then pregnant wife.
