Peter Okoye Says Judeboy and Rudeboy Are the New Psquare

Nigerian music star and one-half of the iconic Psquare duo, Peter Okoye, has officially declared that the era of Psquare is over—and he’s moving on solo.

This announcement came as a response to a tweet that read, “There will be nothing like Psquare forever. There’s time for everything.” Peter agreed wholeheartedly, stating that he no longer identifies with Psquare, and that the torch has now been passed to Judeboy and Rudeboy—referring to his elder brother Jude Okoye and twin brother Paul Okoye.

“Exactly! Judeboy & Rudeboy, that’s the new JPsquare. Make una manage them. It’s their time. I dey on my own dey run my own race. I am my own Square.”

Peter Okoye’s candid words have triggered a flurry of reactions online. While some praised his boldness and self-awareness, others criticized him for what they see as constant digs at his family.

Some fans wrote:

• “He needs to heal, cause what’s going on?”

• “Peter is struggling with so many uncontrollable emotions.”

• “Your manipulation go soon clear for everybody eye.”

This latest drama follows a series of tensions between Peter and his family. Just days earlier, Jude Okoye had taken shots at Peter, Cynthia Morgan, and others, accusing them of being greedy and ungrateful after walking away from him. According to Jude, they bragged about success after leaving him, but have now hit rock bottom and are blaming others instead of taking responsibility.

Peter fired back, stating that being older doesn’t automatically earn someone respect, especially when there’s betrayal involved. He insisted that Jude never carried him, and that wishing him broke had always been Jude’s hidden desire.

Earlier this year, Peter had also shared a cryptic message about family, warning the public not to let relatives be the reason they suffer in silence. He revealed how he endured 20 years of pain, adding that “Love doesn’t manipulate. Loyalty doesn’t betray. Family doesn’t steal from you.”

In 2023, Psquare’s brief reunion ended in another fallout, reportedly due to disagreements over shared funds, with Peter accusing Jude of diverting money and Paul of siding against him.

Now, with this latest declaration, it’s clear Peter Okoye has closed the Psquare chapter for good—and is choosing to stand alone.
